How to Fight Against Dehydration

When the summer temperatures rise, we might find ourselves sweating profusely and becoming ridiculously parched. Dehydration symptoms include thirst, dry mouth, fatigue, lightheadedness, and dark-colored urine. Drink Fluids

One of the most surefire ways to keep yourself from dehydrating is hydration! Even if you’re not thirsty, drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. And make sure to drink even more if you’re doing physical activity. While sports drinks can help replenish electrolytes, water is always the best option. You must also be cautious about what you do not drink. Avoid beverages that can cause dehydration, such as coffee, tea, and alcoholic beverages.

Wear Light Colors and Fabrics

The clothing you wear can have a big impact on your body’s temperature. Darker colors absorb more heat, making you sweat more quickly. Lighter colors, on the other hand, reflect heat and help you stay cool. Furthermore, certain materials can influence how your body regulates heat. Cotton, for example, is a light and breathable fabric that keeps you cool, whereas synthetic materials such as polyester can trap heat and make you feel hot.

Even if you are always on the move or doing a lot of physical labor, you need to find time to rest. Doing too much at once can overexert the body, leading you to become dehydrating faster.
